For instance, if you are a size 14 and you spend a fair bit of money on some beautiful size 8 dresses as motivation, you will probably feel quite cheesed off if you are not wearing them a month later.</p>
<p>It is not a good idea to make yourself feel awful, so the right way to have done this would have been to set smaller, more easily achievable, less expensive goals. A consequence of upsetting yourself like that could be depression or / and desperation and desperation to meet your targets can lead to foolish decisions.</p>
<p>Foolish decisions like following a fad diet, because it promises you rapid weight loss. There is no such thing as sustainable rapid weight loss without a change of lifestyle. Yes, you can go for surgery and have lumps cut off yourself or you can pump yourself full of diuretics and squeeze the water out of yourself, but the weight will come back, unless you change the way you live.</p>
<p>Any diet that promises rapid weight loss without recommending a healthier, more active lifestyle is doubtful. Many of these types of diet are fad diets. The organizers of these diets are only interested in selling you magic potion drinks or powders as meal substitutes. I have even seen one company selling magnetic earrings which were &#8216;guaranteed&#8217; to make you lose weight, if you dieted and did more exercise!</p>
<p>Of course you will lose weight if you diet and exercise, but carrying the earrings around with you is not helping. It just adds to the depression when you read in the newspaper that the guru you have been following is outed as a con artist.</p>
<p>Here are a few tell-tale signs to help you spot a phony diet:</p>
<p>Any diet that requires you to miss meals should start red lights flashing. If you stop eating, you are reducing the amount of calories you are consuming, so you can expect to lose weight. That is not rocket science. You do not need to pay for advice like that.</p>
<p>However, this approach does not necessarily work either. If you miss a meal, your blood/sugar levels will drop and that has different consequences for different people, but none of them are advantageous. It will also increase the likelihood that you will overeat at the next meal. It would be better to eat a salad, an apple or a banana instead.</p>
<p>Any weight loss program that says you can lose weight without exercising or without dieting is definitely dodgy too, because exercise is necessary for good blood circulation and metabolism, which are vital to your losing weight and living healthily.</p>
<p>However, exercise alone will not guarantee good health, you have to diet too. In this context &#8216;dieting&#8217; just means eating healthily.</p>
<p>You do not have to wear anything special to lose weight either. Electric vibrating belts, magnetic earrings, sweat-inducing cummerbunds and the like, do not work. Full stop. They do not work and in a similar vein, powder and liquid substitutes are not worth it either. Get a liquidizer and make your own or just eat properly.</p>

Even at 2% though, most people would agree that constipation seems to be a problem afflicting a broad segment of the population.</p>
<p>The uncertainty of survey results stems partly from the fact that defining constipation is difficult. For example, asked what a normal frequency for passage of stool is, the average person might reply anywhere from every day to every three days. Furthermore, many will complain about other types of symptoms associated with constipation, such as hard feces, or very slow expulsion when sitting on the toilet seat. Such variations confound the interpretation of statistics, giving rise to numbers as low as 2% and as high as 30%.</p>
<p>Diagnosis of disease is followed by the monumental goal of pinning down the primary cause in each patient. Diagnosis is easy if there are many other tell-tale signs, such as those found in patients with irritable bowel syndrome. In another subgroup, patients may suffer from nerve and muscle damage that are the culprits of constipation. But for a very large group, physicians will be unable to find a cause. In this large group, the condition is simply called &#8220;idiopathic constipation&#8221;.</p>
<p>With idiopathic and chronic constipation, one of the first things a physician will do with his or her patient is inquire about dietary and personal bowel habits. The physician wishes to rule out the simplest causes. Dietary shortage of insoluble fiber can be fixed by increasing uptake of fiber, either through food intake modification or addition of supplements. These types of <a target='_blank' href="http://constipationtreatments.org/natural-remedies/">natural remedies for constipation</a> have the advantage of both provide diagnosis and treatment, if successful.</p>
<p>There are several other natural remedies which are not fiber-related, examples of which are anthraquinone herbs such as senna. However, one should never succumb to the idea that a natural treatment is a safe one automatically. The Federal Drug Agency (FDA) recently forced some natural remedies off the market for safety reasons. As a result, manufacturers can no longer market aloe vera and cascara medications as constipation remedies. Nevertheless, other remedies are available.</p>
<p>There are also a number of prescription-only constipation medications available. Some of these act as laxatives, whereas others are special compounds that modulate the functional properties of the gastrointestinal tract. In recent times, exciting therapies such as biofeedback have also risen to prominence. Expect treatments for constipation to advanced greatly in the next few years.</p>

You cannot only drink cabbage water all your life!</p>
<p>Although there is a lot of claptrap talked about losing weight, there are some truths that have a part to play in almost every program you choose to follow. One of these truths is that it is better to eat many small meals during the day (about 5-6), than to go all day without eating and then stuffing yourself at dinner in the evening. This is popularly called &#8216;grazing&#8217;.</p>
<p>Have you ever wondered why this might be so? Well, the fact is, that the average human body can only handle about 250 calories per hour. If you eat more than that, you are probably overloading your digestive system. This is why it matters, because if your body cannot handle all the calories that you give it, it will store them.</p>
<p>Your body can only use up what it requires to fulfill the job that it is busy with, that is, what you are putting it through. If you are watching TV, a lot of of those 250 will be stored. If you are exercising, most will be burned up. It stores the remainder as body fat. Your body has learned through evolution that tough times will come, so it prepares for them. It is like us putting excess money in a savings account or people hoarding food if a bad winter is predicted.</p>
<p>However, these days in the West, we rarely face those lean times any longer. Therefore, that fat is never used up and we just keep adding to it until we decide, by choice, to limit our consumption of calories or increase our amount of exercise.</p>
<p>Given this information, what can we do with it? Well, if you were to want to lose weight, you should be consuming no more than 1,500 calories a day (or whatever your program tells you), so 1,500 divided by 250 is six. if you ate 250 calories every other hour, that would give you twelve hours.</p>
<p>Therefore, eating light but often would be a beneficial strategy or program to follow, because first of all, you are only providing your body with what it needs, when it needs it and secondly, you are able to better maintain a consistent blood sugar level, which means that you iron out the spikes and troughs you experience in a normal day&#8217;s cycle.</p>
<p>Two hundred and fifty calories does not sound a lot, but it is surprising what it will stretch too, if you take the trouble to investigate. It is true that you will have to severely restrict some foodstuffs, like bread, pasta, rice and potatoes, but whoever honestly thought that you could lose weight by eating that stuff anyway?</p>
<p>If you do not have time to cook several times every day, look in your supermarket. There are loads of &#8217;250 calorie&#8217; microwave meals. You don&#8217;t want to eat that? I can&#8217;t blame you. so get a good cookbook, which shows calorie content. You are at work all day? OK, eat some fruit, but choose wisely. It can be done, it only takes a little determination and planning.</p>
